Fashion Works was born out of faith, love for family and the freedom of entrepreneurship. Tenin Baba Ndanani is an award-winning singer/songwriter and actress with over 15 years experience including appearances on Oxygen, Fox and TLC television networks, as well as the 60th Annual Grammy Awards with Sam Smith.
When Tenin and her husband had their first child, she felt a pull away from the busy entertainment world and toward being more available for her young family. She also wanted to make an impact in her community and add to the household income. She prayed to God for a special idea and received the inspiration to pursue her long-held passion for fashion design using a unique "edu-tainment" approach.
Out of this, Fashion Works was birthed. Having worked with elementary students for most of her college career as a site director, Tenin knew the struggle children faced to feel confident and develop a healthy form of self-expression. She wanted to alleviate that pressure by providing creative learning opportunities that would engage and inspire young people to develop their God-given gifts and grow new talents.
Today our goal is simple – to enrich the lives of children while also empowering women to run their own successful business. In combining these desires, we are blessed to help independent business owners across the country support their families, watch students realize their dreams and give back to organizations that share our mission.
We all have a "why" – a reason for doing the things we do. Whats yours? Maybe it's Community, Family, Faith or Flexibility. Maybe it's just having FUN. Our why is helping you reach yours!
